The Designer

Designer Jim Duran is the founder and creative director of Dallas-based BLKLN, a fashion-forward line of contemporary menswear. Perpetually inspired by music, art, and the male form, Duran's ambition is to broaden the perspective of the modern man's silhouette. Driven by his appreciation for fashion design, BLKLN is Duran's distinctive, modern collection, comprised of tailored shirts, trousers, tees, and other essential men's wardrobe staples.

Jim Duran is a fashion multi-tasker. His experience in the industry encompasses public relations, styling, writing, and design. He has worked with numerous high-profile names including Jean Paul Gaultier, Fern Mallis, L’Wren Scott, Joe Zee, and famed Sex And The City costume designer Patricia Field. From producing runway shows at New York Fashion Week to profiling trendsetters in print publications, Jim is continually seeking out new and exciting opportunities in the fashion industry.

Since moving to Dallas in September 2010, he has freelanced with the likes of Jan Strimple, DFW Style Daily, and DIFFA before focusing his energy on contemporary menswear design.
